So you want to join Asheville LETS, huh?
Well first you'll need to sign up for an account by attending an orientation meeting (the first Tuesday of every month at 6pm in the W.C. Reid Center, 133 Livingston). You can also check our calendar of events for more sign-up opportunities.
At the orientation meeting, you'll get a detailed explanation of how LETS works and how to conduct trades. You'll also get a Member Packet including a Member's Contract and Asheville LETS Guidelines to read over. After you've familiarized yourself with the system, simply fill out a Membership Application and your Directory Submissions form! A volunteer will take these forms and create a new account for you. You can now get started trading!
If you have regular internet access you will be provided with login information to browse the online directory, update your account information and record new transactions. If you don't have web access, you can instead receive a printed directory.
After that, it's up to you. If you are using a web-based account, log-on and flesh out your Offers and Wants. Then use the online directory to find someone with whom you want to trade. If you are using a paper-based account, flip through the printed directory and do the same. It's best to jump right in - find a couple people who have Offers that interest you and a couple people who have Wants that you can fulfill.
