General
Why am I not receiving emails?
The Asheville LETS web software should be dropping you a note each time another member does something that will affect your account balance. If you do not receive these notices, it is likely that they are being filtered out by your Internet Service Provider, email provider, or mail client. If you have a junk or spam folder, you may want to check it to ensure that system emails are not being trashed. All system notices have a subject line that starts "[[AshevilleLETS]]..."
To avoid missing future notices, you may want to tell your email provider or mail client that LETS related messages are not spam. To do this, add the address "no-reply@ashevillelets.org" to your list of contacts or address book. If the problem persists, contact a Tech Support for assistance.
Updating Your Account
I lost my password, can you send it to me?
Your password is stored in a database and is encrypted. This means that system administrators cannot see what your password is. Luckily, if you lose your password, you can get a new one on the Reset Password page. Your new password will be sent to you by email. After receiving it, we strongly recommend that you log in and change it to something that you will remember (see below).
I had my password reset but never got the new one!
Your new password was sent to the email address associated with your account. If you did not receive it within 10 minutes of resetting your password, it was probably treated as spam. Check your junk/spam/bulk folder. The message you are looking for will be titled "[[AshevilleLETS]] Password Reset." To ensure that our emails are not treated as junk in the future, please add "no-reply@ashevillelets.org" to your contact list/address book.
If you have tried resetting your password multiple times, and the above instructions do not help, please contact Tech Support.

How do I edit or remove my listings?

Once on your Member Account index, click "Edit Your Offers & Wants" under the "Member Directory" heading (click here to go there now). Next, look under the "My Listings" column for the offer or want that you wish to update. Clicking the title of the listing will reveal its summary text and buttons to 'edit' or 'delete' it from the system.
How should I price my offers?
In setting values for your services, you should consider two primary factors: Time & Aversion. Other members will expect that you ask more for things that take longer to accomplish or are less enjoyable to you. We recommend that you ask five (5) LETS per hour for work that you find enjoyable.
If you are recycling or creating material goods, you may also need to request that a certain percentage of a transaction be conducted in cash to cover your out-of-pocket expenses (for example, if you are a potter trading earthenware bowls, you may be willing to trade your labor for LETS credits but need some additional money to cover the expense of buying clay).
Managing Exchanges
Who is responsible for recording exchanges?
The member receiving LETS credits is responsible for recording the exchange and maintaining a paper record of the transaction's legitimacy. Do not record transactions in which you are paying another member for services.
How do I record a new exchange?
To record a new exchange, you will need to first log in to your account. Once logged in you will be forwarded to your Member Account index (you can also reach this page by clicking the teal "Member Account" button on the upper right). On the Member Account index page, click "Record a Transaction" under the "Transactions" header (click here to go there now). On the proceeding page, fill out all form fields using the information on the credit voucher given to you. Be careful to enter the Member Name accurately in the "from" field or you may inadvertently charge the wrong member! Adding a note to the exchange is optional but strongly recommended as it will both identify the transaction's validity to your exchange partner (who must approve the exchange) and serve as a record in your account history for your future reference.
Using the Directory
Can I get new listings by email?
If you want to stay abreast of the member directory but don't have time to log into your account every day, you might be interested in receiving new listings as a daily or weekly digest - delivered right to your inbox! Signing up is simple. Just click on the "Update Me" icon located on the Directory Index page. This will take you to your Account Preferences page where you can specify a Daily or Weekly digest. Return to this page if you ever wish to stop receiving new listing notifications (click here to go there now).
