Notes
Forms
Joe made a form for receipts, which he will print up and hopefully make into booklets this week. Brenna and Joe will finalize copies of the membership application and the offers/wants form. Everyone still needs to review and make changes to the early version of a member’s agreement. There was discussion about the application form, with a few minor changes to be made by Brenna. We agreed to have a policy to only accept membership forms at meetings so that new members attend before signing on.
Pamphlet
Kim was able to get a Spanish version of the pamphlet translated, but it needs accents still. Brenna and Kim will both try to find someone to do this. The pamphlet is ready to be printed. Scott will call Wednesday and look into low-cost printing options.
Constitiution
Everyone still needs to review this and give comments to Kila
Recruitment
We would like to make copies of the UK LETS booklet available for recruitment. Joe will make copies this week. We discussed whether or not to do outreach to organizations before the soft launch. It was agreed that this should not be a priority, but that it would be useful to send email invitations to organizations to attend our meetings, since the outeach letter has been written already. We decided out priorities for outreach need to be bilingual individuals, and finding members for the soft launch phase. When recruiting for the soft lauch we want to be compiling lists of skills, interests and FAQ’s, and telling people to save the date for the soft launch party, December 16th. Joe will make a flyer for this event. Brenna will loo.k into getting a space for it, at 12 noon
Units value/name
We briefly discussed what directions to take this, and came up with the idea of valuing a lets unit as a slice of pie- your favorite kind…more discussion to follow.
It was suggested that we find out more about barter and trade systems in the area historically – both the first Asheville LETS and earlier systems such as the use of tobacco as legal currency in NC.
Next week
Tuesday, November 21 at Joe’s house 7pm.
