Launch Schedule

The main topic of conversation was the schedule. All agreed (including Joe, who was not at the meeting), that it was time to reassess the timeline, and that we were all happy with how things are moving along. We restated the fact that the timeline was meant to keep the project moving along, and that it was accomplishing this purpose. We also agreed that we don't want to become obsessed with sticking to the initial schedule if it will damage the project (by flying through things too fast, etc.). Also, because our approach will change as we delve deeper into the project, we may find that things we scheduled are not things we want to do, we may want to go about things in a different way. Here is a summary of the next month:

  • Dec. 5th meeting: Brenna will bring Constitution feedback, Joe will bring LETSLink UK materials, Kila will bring consensus process materials, Scott will bring pamphlet printing suggestions, Kim will bring ad suggestion, all will bring comments on the forms and receipt books which Joe & Brenna handed over last week, Kila will email translator about proofreading translation and bring a proposal to the meeting, we will decide on a new date for soft launch party and soft launch
  • Dec. 12th meeting: Scott will do an in-depth website reportback. All will hand over finalized forms to Kim to pass on to the lawyer. Pamphlets will have been ordered. Kim will report back about 1-800 #s. We will decide on course of action for inviting people to soft-launch party (flyers, emails, etc.)
  • Dec. 19th meeting: Cancelled (people encouraged to read & do more research in the meantime)
  • Dec. 26th meeting: Cancelled (people encouraged to read & do more research in the meantime)
  • Jan. 2nd meeting: Summary of materials we've read. Focus on the soft-launch party and the soft-launch

More detailed account

By the December 12th meeting, we would like to see the following things accomplished:

  • Ad out for a bilingual organizer
  • ALL PAPERWORK FINALIZED so that we can hand it off to the lawyer Kim knows [All paperwork includes: Constitution, forms, pamphlet (already done), principles (already done)]
  • Pamphlets will be ordered
  • We will have time, date, & location of soft launch party

We acknowledged that, due to the fact that few would be able to make it to these meetings, we will:

  • cancel the Dec. 19 & Dec. 26 LETS meetings

It was also consensed upon that:

  • Free time we have to work on LETS during the 2nd half of December should be used READING the LETSLink UK materials (which Joe will bring to the next meeting), the various LETS books that are floating around, or doing on-line research. We agreed that we could all use more background on the concepts and the systems, especially because we will need to do some good talking and explaining at our soft launch party. This is the type of thing that, if we do it before we're ready we might not do a very good job, and that would be damaging to the project. We also agreed that we will do a summary report-back segment in January to share insights we found in the materials we have read.
  • The soft launch party in mid-December has been cancelled and will be re-scheduled because we are not ready to do it well

The soft launch date of Jan. 1 has been cancelled and will be re-secheduled

New timeline dates:

  • Soft launch party: Noon Saturday or Sunday 3rd weekend in January was proposed. This was not consensed upon (in fact, I may have a conflict). We'll need to know everyone's schedule!

Soft launch: Beginning of February was proposed, but not consensed upon

  • Scott will change the website to reflect the timeline changes. The hard launch will be changed to "Spring 2007, which leaves the actual date open to a range of a few months).
  • Scott will do a presentation on website updates at the Dec. 12 meeting.
  • Kim said that she would research getting a voice mail # and even looking into getting a 1-800 #
