Reportbacks
Legal
Kim emailed her lawyer again. Kila emailed & called Ithaca Hours lawyer. We're hoping the Ithaca Hours guy will help us do tax & welfare guidelines. We hope Kim's lawyer will look at the rest of the documents and maybe liabilities language. We realized it is tax season and so we might not be able to get much attention before tax day. As long as it's all done by the public launch, we're fine though. We decided things are moving along fine in the legal department.
Website
- FAQ up
- How to get involved up
- Offers & Wants trickling in
- Video demonstrating how to do these things will be up on website this week
Outreach
Kim passed over draft outreach email for soft launch. Kila will finalize & send out, encouraging people to forward it on. We also talked about the need to sign up friends directly (making sure people fill out forms in front of us), noting that we haven't received any membership forms or directory entry forms in the mail even though extra Member Packets were taken from the workshop. Scott said that of the new accounts set up, 3 people have logged in. 2 have edited their Offers & Wants since the Soft Launch (a few days ago). We also talked about the fact that we should talk to our friends directly and let them know it would be very helpful for them to put up their Offers & Wants asap to help get things rolling. It was suggested a few of us go to the Green Drinks event at BoBo's to chat with folks about LETS. It was also proposed that we encourage people to contact us if they know 5 or more people who would like to learn more about LETS so that we can attempt to set up an orientation for them. We consensed on trying to do an orientation some Monday night at the Grey Eagle before the contra dance. Kila & Scott are working on that b/c there are a bunch of contra dancers interested in this and we want to make it easy for them to join. Some of us do a mini orientation at a green business monday afternoon too...
Contact Responsibilities
Scott & Kila will continue checking PO box. Scott will check help@ashevillelets.org for technical questions and will handle the voicemail. For now, Kim will check for more general questions (info@ashevillelets.org?)
System Organizing
Kim handed out a sheet to help us clarify & analyze our organizational structure. We're going to take it home, read it over, fill it out, discuss it later.
Scheduling
Some new dates for events were consensed upon. In addition to the Tuesday, March 6th Orientation at the Reid Center, there will be another one Tuesday, April 3rd, 6-7pm at the Reid Center. Kila said she'd update the on-line calendar and incorporate those dates in the outreach email. A date was also decided on for the:
- Seedling Swap & Potluck!
- Sunday, April 15 @ 1pm (tax day!)
- Magnolia Park (Montford, corner of Magnolia & Flint St.)
We decided that it is too early to set a date for the public launch.
Next Member Orientation
We decided the orientation will be about an hour. If it runs late that's fine. Here is the agenda:
- Kim's Intro
- Kila's Definitions (minus the LETS / dollar camparisin)
- Scott's How Does It Work Demo (with monitor, not projector)
- Q&A
- Sign up / fill out forms
Scott will bring muffins, Kila cups & napkins, etc., Kim drinks. Encourage people to bring snacks.
Member Packets
Scott, Joe & Kila will be producing 50 more member packets this weekend.
Pamphlets
Scott showed us the new front layout so that there is no possibility of that off-set printing problem. It looked great. We got a tip on a local green printer and hope to get a good deal so we can order our next box of pamphlets. New order of pamphlets will happen this week, but probably won't arrive by the time of the orientation.
