Holidays are on the horizon and the LETS directory is full of fabulous
gift ideas! Jewelry, pottery, skis, apple pies, cookies, computer
upgrades, home renovations, family photos and pony rides are just a
sampling. Have extended family coming into town? Maybe you should borrow a
passenger van, have a LETS member watch the kids or whip up dinner for the
folks!

To make things easier on you, we're organizing a Holiday Trade Fair. Mark
your calendars because on December 9th, Bobo Gallery in downtown Asheville
will host this excellent event (see details below).

== Member Contributions ==

Starting on December 1st, we will be asking each member to contribute $10
per year to cover the operational expenses of Asheville LETS. The easiest
way to make a contribution will be at the December 9th Holiday Trade Fair
or in person at another LETS event (see our website's calendar); however,
you may also use PayPal to transfer from a bank account (see
http://wiki.ashevillelets.org/index.php/Help:Support).

It is important that all members able to making this donation do so, as
some resources critical to the operation of Asheville LETS are only
available in exchange for cash (ie we can't spend LETS on printing, voice
mail account, meeting space, etc). For a summary of system finances, see
http://wiki.ashevillelets.org/index.php/Dev:Finances.

If you are an active member but cannot contribute $10 per year, please let
us know by sending us a written note (PO Box 1291 Asheville, NC 28801).

I. Get Updates by Mail

So you aren't the sort of person who compulsively visits the LETS website
to check for additions to the member directory? Now you can have new
listings sent directly to your inbox! Best of all, you can define filters
to get only the listings that interest you.

It's easy. Just visit the directory and click the "Update Me" icon after
performing a search. You'll then receive notification whenever new
listings are added that would match the parameters you defined.

To get a daily or weekly summary of *all* new listings, visit
http://ashevillelets.org/members_searches/add/?cat=0.

This new feature is still experimental so please send us any feedback on
your experience using it.

== Accounting / Tax Services ==

For anyone starting to think about the rapidly approaching tax season,
we'd like to plug Bob LeRoy's 1040X Tax Relief Inc. Mr LeRoy has played a
critical role in helping Asheville LETS tackle the complexities of IRS
code and its application to our trade network. He is now lining up clients
for early 2008 and can be reached at 225-8805.
